Story

Dr. Dhaliwal received her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from her alma mater, the University of Calgary, where she grew up. Dr. Dhaliwal’s interest in naturopathic medicine Calgary began when she volunteered at a local hospital and a women’s health center. Dr. Dhaliwal saw this as she learned about the healthcare system and dealt with her family’s chronic health issues. The recurrence of symptoms also may have been due to a lack of focus on making lifestyle changes and setting long-term preventative objectives.

Dr. Dhaliwal found his calling in naturopathic medicine after investigating its distinctions from conventional care and meeting a naturopathic physician. She studied naturopathic medicine for four years at Canada’s only authorized naturopathic medical school, the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (now the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine). Dr. Dhaliwal also worked with the Vancouver clinic Positive Living BC as part of her clinical training, where she developed naturopathic medicine Calgary plans for people living with HIV/AIDS. She is an active, paid-up member of three professional organizations: the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and the Alberta College of Naturopathic Doctors.

She firmly believes in patient education and interdisciplinary teamwork in healthcare. She is especially interested in issues relating to the gastrointestinal tract, the skin, energy enhancement, the health of women, and the balance of hormones. She appreciates being able to speak both English and Punjabi with her patients. Outside of work, Dr. Dhaliwal loves trying out new dishes in the kitchen and spending time with her family.
